June marks the start of the dam building season in Kenya...
'Excellent Development' and the Utooni Development Organisation are hard at work.
Each sand dam will hold enough water to supply 1200 people all year round, transforming lives, generating income and growing crops. Writer and broadcaster John Humphrys is a keen supporter of the work and describes it as 'vitally important'
'More than 3,500 000 people die every year due to water related diseases' (World Health Organisation)
Quest has been working with Excellent Development and the Kamba people since 2004, constructing dams and providing clean drinking water to thousands of people. The lastest team of volunteers will go out to Kenya on 14th of July to continue this work alongside the local community.
