What do you think of when you think of fundraising? A sponsored walk, run, swim? A fundraising concert or party?
All of these are great idea's but over the last 3 months Quest4Change supporters have innovated their heads off to raise funds for our children's project in the shanty town of Villa Maria, Peru. And here's what they've been up to:
Just yesterday the fantastic team at Towers Watson held a "Watch the England game at Work" event to raise money for our school expansion and junior football league initiative. They combined it with their annual cake sale so that even if you didn't want to watch the footie, a slice of cake appealed!
Philippa Browne and her soon to be husband Mark have decided to ask guests to their wedding for a donation to the project instead of a gift in memory of their friend Katie Ashbridge who volunteered on the project back in 2000. This generous idea will mean that their wedding will be causing happiness half way around the world as new homes for single mothers are built in Katie's memory.
Harry Owen decided that he would support his daughter, Chantel's volunteering efforts in Villa Maria this summer by asking guests to his 50th birthday party for a donation to Quest4Change - and he's raised over £1,200 - Thank you to Harry and all his guests.
And last but definitely not lest Garion Woodcock who is heading out to Villa Maria in a few weeks performed roly-polies for one hour and 25 minutes. It was an uphill battle as he took himself from the Crewkerne Victoria Hall to the railway station over a mile away.
Now who said fundraising is boring? Not us! A massive thank you to all of these fundraisers and their fabulous supporters.
If you would like to support any of our projects with a fundraising event why not get in touch with Heather for support, idea's and advice.
