Help us build a Merry Christmas in Villa Maria

Imagine being given the gift of a new house this Christmas. Our project partners in Villa Maria, Peru, are planning to build 10 new houses for some of the poorest families in the communities we work with, located high up in the hills of the shanty town. But they cannot do this without your help.

The team in Peru are all set to put in the hard graft to construct and install the houses before Christmas, but they need your help to raise the funds required to buy the materials.
Each house costs just £500 to build

Winter in Villa Maria
Winter is not an easy time in the district of Villa Maria del Triunfo, known as the coldest in Lima. Communities have to deal with an intense wave of cold, wet weather and dense fog. Yet there is a distinct lack of adequate housing to keep families warm and healthy during these harsh winters; many of the houses don’t even have running water, electricity or sewerage.
A typical house: poorly insulated and draughty

Here's how you can help
You can help us make these families’ dreams a reality this Christmas by giving them the gift of a new house, in which they can celebrate Christmas this year. Each house costs just $800 / £500 to build. Together we can make this happen:

1. Donate here: https://mydonate.bt.com/events/letsbuildamerrychristmas
2. Organise a fundraising event, aim to raise £500 - the cost of one house
3. See if your work would be interested in supporting this project
4. Share this story on social media

Meet the families
Here are the families that we are proposing to help; families that are struggling to get by, the burden resting on the shoulders of a single, working mother.
