Music to her ears
Our project in Villa Maria, Peru endeavours to support as many children as we can, be it with education, after school clubs or their health. One fantastic story from this year is that of Yomely, a young girl who has been receiving free education in our school for a couple of years now. Whilst she has been doing well at the school, her progress had been limited by the fact that she is completely deaf. Thanks to support from ex-volunteer Alice Machin and her family and friends though, funds were secured to get her a hearing aid in one ear as well as a few speech therapy sessions.
You can watch Yomely having the hearing aid fitted for the first time on this Youtube video:
Thank you to everyone who has supported our project in Villa Maria this year, together we have reached out to over 5,000 children this year, long may it continue.
