We here at Quest4Change were thrilled to be selected as one of three small charities to be represented on eBay's charity checkout challenge in July. This was a fantastic opportunity for us and the event raised a phenomenal £3,117.75 more than we could ever have dreamed.
These donations we made by anonymous donors who when purchasing items on eBay decided to donate a £1 or more to our school expansion project in Villa Maria, Peru.
As a result of this incredible response to our campaign I am delighted to inform all our supporters that we have now secured enough funding for the school expansion project and the school will open it's doors to a further 100 children in January 2011 when the new school term begins.
To everyone who has supported this campaign, from donating to Danilo's weight loss appeal, to selling or buying items on eBay and to the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable trust for their generous donation of £6,500 which really got this project off the ground THANK YOU!
With 100 new places being created at the school we are hoping to offer at least 60 fully subsidised places to the poorest children. Just £180 covers the cost of educating a child in Villa Maria for a year, including all their school fee's, uniform, text books and resources. If you would be interested in finding out more about sponsoring a child please e-mail Heather or call 01273 777206.
