Here at Quest4Change we are proud of the work we do and the grassroots partners that we work with in Africa and South America. The majority of what we do relies largely on the hard work, enthusiasm and passion of our volunteers.
Not only is a huge part of the money we raise accumulated by volunteers every year, but it is also the motivation and imputes they provide, when participating in our projects, that can really achieve the goals set out by our partners overseas. We also recognise the immense development that takes place for the volunteer themselves, and acknowledge the great positives that they will gain in what we know are two-way experiences.
Volunteerism is not always rosy though as this interesting article explains some of the pitfalls that can be found volunteering abroad and highlights the importance of researching and making a conscientious decision before you take the plunge. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22294205
