Why the chicken at the present not the egg?
• Approximately 80 million chocolate eggs are sold annually in the UK
• This year the UK is set to spend £520m on Easter eggs
• A survey by Friends of the Earth revealed that in some cases for every £1 spent on eggs consumers could be spending more on packaging. It estimated that 4,370 tonnes of cardboard and 160 tons of foil waste were created by packaging in 2007.

Let’s give the chicken a chance to be the Perfect Easter gift
• In Tanzania primary education is free but yet only half of all children have the opportunity to attend school.
• Chickens can provide a sustainable income so that schools can maintain buildings, pay teachers salaries and buy books.
• Just £15 buys a chicken, shelter and food, and it pays for itself in less than a year! The kids will be given responsibility for the chicken, they are not allowed to sell the bird or eat it.
• The food and money raised will enable children to buy much needed school books, stationary as well as providing a constant income for their families.
• The chicken will have paid for itself within a year.
