Ubaka makes steady progress on their new youth centre for street children

Our partners Ubaka U Rwanda are making steady progress on the new youth centre that will provide a permanent home for boys who once lived on the street.

Work on the centre started on January 28 this year, and the first stage of construction is now complete. The exterior wall, fence and gate have been constructed. Not only that, work on the annex – a separate building that will contain a kitchen, dining room, two drop toilets, a washing space and two additional rooms – is also nearing completion. The next phase of construction will be the main residential building, which will consist of bedrooms and bathrooms for the boys.

It has been months of hard work for Evode, who founded Ubaka U Rwanda, and the team involved in the construction. Yet, they are happy that even with limited funds, they had managed to accomplish a great deal.

Take a look at the amazing work done by the team in Rwanda:

We’ll keep you updated with the continuing progress
