2013 was again a big year at Quest with a fantastic 114
volunteers working overseas building houses in Villa Maria, creating
bio-gardens in Manu, helping run a feeding centre in Malawi and much, much more.
We were also excited to launch a new initiative, sending a team of younger
offenders to our project in Kenya. This was very successful for all those
involved and cements our commitment to the idea that development is and should
be a two-way partnership.
We celebrated our 5th
anniversary of Quest4Change operating as a registered charity. To mark the
occasion, we awarded a bursary towards one of our summer trips to one young
person. Shiron, our recipient, has written about his experiences working at
Villa Maria. In his own words:
‘It served as a test of my determination and mental agility as I worked as part of a team building houses for vulnerable families and teaching English to deprived Peruvian children.’
You can read more about Shiron’s trip and the work going on at Villa Maria in the report.
Lastly, a huge thank you to all those who helped make 2013 another fantastic year at Quest, including our partners and teams of volunteers on the ground, fundraisers, individual donors, sponsors and the charitable trusts who have supported us. Without you all, the work could not happen. Thank you!
