Happy Earth Day 2013 everyone!

Every year on April 22, more than one billion people take part in Earth Day to acknowledge the amazing planet we call home and take action to protect it.  This year's theme is The Face of Climate Change, something we're passionate about here at Quest4Change.

We believe not only that it is important to address climate change and its effects, but we also want to bring the story down to one community, one species, one person.

Only when we recognise that climate change is more than just an impersonal process happening 'somewhere else, to someone else', will we sit up and take action....  We're proud that with our project partners, we can do just that!

combat the effects of desertification in their community.
In Kenya, we work with Excellent and Africa Sand Dam Foundation to help communities to build sand dams, a reinforced concrete structure that means seasonal rains don't just wash away, but are partially captured to provide access to clean water all year round.

In Manu, Peru, we work with the CREES Foundation to reduce the destruction of the Peruvian Amazon through a combination of conservation and community projects, providing protection for the precious rainforest as well as supporting families to achieve sustainable good incomes from eco-friendly ventures.

Upload your own 'Face of Climate Change' at www.earthday.org/2013 - and or see if you can spot ours among the thousands!
