Another 4 houses for Villa Maria!

Brilliant work from the Quest volunteers in Villa Maria this summer!

The 8-strong team managed to complete four new houses for vulnerable families in the shanty town, part of the Me Nueva Casa initiative begun in memory of former volunteer Katie Ashbridge.

Housebuilding doesn't only include the sawing, hammering and nailing of the simple wooden constructions, but in many cases also involves demolition of the unsafe houses to be replaced - and the picture below shows exactly why this is:
Former home to a mother and her 2 children, this house has now been replaced by Quest4Change volunteers.

And in case building and demolition work wasn't quite enough to keep the volunteers busy, this summer also saw them continuing work on the Quest Primary School upgrade.  Oh yes, and putting on 'ferias', taking part in an Independence Day Parade...and not to mention holding the Peruvian leg of the Quest Olympics...

Volunteers ready for a evening 'feria'!

Fantastic work guys!
