Remember Chantel and Harry Owen, the fantastic father and daughter fundraising team? Their efforts in cycling from London to Paris have overall raised a huge total of £6,000 for Villa Maria!
This will not only enable work to be completed on the Quest Primary School expansion in Villa Maria, but also be used to build houses for some of the most vulnerable single parent families. With space limited in the shanty town, families have been forced to cut precarious platforms into the hillsides and creat shelters made from scrap iron and plastic. With large famlies living in these conditions, sanitation and health are at risk in the area.
Through the Me Nueva Casa initiative started in 2007, Quest4Change has been able to fund the building of over 30 basic but safe single-parent homes. It was this project that Chantel became involved in with Quest as a volunteer in the summer of 2010, and that inspired her and her family to continue their support of Villa Maria.
Without fundraisers like the Owens, Quest4Change could not do the things it does. Thank you.
