Where are the gringos?! This is the cry from the hillsides of Villa Maria at the moment. With the kids already in their summer holiday, they are keenly awaiting the arrival of our team in the next week or so, so they can enjoy a whole programme of games, sports, swimming pool visits and who knows what other surprises during their time at our shanty town project in Lima, Peru. This year, we are looking to extend our work into the valley neighbouring Villa Maria, working with hundreds of children in 6 new communities. The record from previous Quest teams in the summer months was to have taken 5,200 children to the local swimming pool in the space of four weeks - how will we get on this year??
At the same time, we are delighted to have secured funding for the expansion of our local primary school, providing free and subsidised education for the most needy children in the area. Once completed, the capacity of the school will grow from 80 children to nearly 200, many of which would have otherwise had no chance to go to primary school. We’re not stopping there of course, a secondary school is on the cards in the not too distant future. Watch this space...

Keep up the good work, Quest4change! Well done to everyone, I can imagine the children are really excited about their summer holidays! I ran the Brighton marathon for them, yesterday, I am proud to have been able to help a handful of the children there. xx
And Quest4Change and the kids are very happy to have you helping!
