British Activist in Peru wins his right to stay

Paul McAuley has lived in Peru for 20 years and received an MBE for his educational work in the capital, Lima.
For a decade now, McAulay has been working with the indigenous people to fight environmental destruction and educate the population in their human and environmental rights.
Unfortunately the Peruvian government disagree with his efforts and have accused him of causing political agitation.
Oil exploration and logging are threatening the Amazon and its indigenous population. McAuley is merely leading people to ask for their rights.
McAuley has won the right to stay in Peru while he fights an expulsion order from the government. Hundreds of indigenous people have demonstrated in support of McAuley. To read more visit the BBC website
