Oh what a night!

The Watson Wyatt Salsa night in aid of Villa Maria was a huge success raising a total of £3,379 - that's enough to build 6 houses! Sarah and I headed up to London for the event where we meet Stav, Andrew and the whole team.

There was a yummy buffet, the salsa lesson was absolutely brilliant (even though I was the only female dancing as a man I believe I held my own) and the raffle was fantastic. We were very disappointed not to have pulled our own names from the bucket as I would have really loved a iPod Touch, however in a lovey turn of events Katie Ashbridges mother Penny won the Magnum of Champagne. The evening finished with a dance off (from which we were disqualified) and then everyone through caution to the wind by continuing to dance to Alexandra Burke and Chery Cole!
Katie was a volunteer back on the Children's project in Villa Maria Peru in 2000. She tragically died suddenly in 2007 and since then her friends family and work colleagues have been raising funds for Villa Maria, a place which was very close to her heart.

It was a fitting event in her memory and our huge thanks have to go out to the team that made this happen:
  • Will Engelhardt
  • Stav Tsielepis
  • Lucy Ring
  • Heather Roddy
  • Isabel Lawson
  • Louise McCarthy
  • Jenny Gibbons
  • Leo Ring

We're already looking forward to the 2010 Watson Wyatt Salsa night!
